Why You Need to Take Risks to Make It in the Fitness Business

Are you wasting your brainpower on stuff that doesn’t matter?

As an entrepreneur, efficiency is the name of the game, man. That comes down to the 8s, 9s, and 10s and the 1s, 2s, and 3s.

Most people want to figure out what kind of corporation they should set up, and they want to figure out how their brand and their logo is going to look. They focus on the safe stuff, the 8s, 9s, and 10s, that doesn’t matter.

That’s the trap so many businesses fall into, whether it’s a brand new business, or a brick and mortar gym, or a boot camp, or online coaching consulting.

You need to work on the 1s, 2s, and 3s, the stuff that moves the needle and makes you money. You just have to be ready to take on some risk…

Where Is Your Focus At?

Doing the important things comes with a high chance of rejection.

There’s a chance you might get rejected, there’s a chance that Facebook is going to take some money from you and not give you leads until you figure out your funnel, there’s a chance that when you make a video people are going to leave bad comments and belittle you.

It’s also hard work. It’s not as glamorous as designing your logo is, but it’s so much more necessary (I’ll get to that in a bit).

And so most people don’t focus on the 1s, 2s, and 3s. They focus on the safe stuff, the 8s, 9s, and 10s.

Which hosting should I use, Bluehost or HostGator for my website. Who cares? They’re both somewhere around 99.9% up-time, right?

Should I use Stripe or Infusion Soft to collect payments? Who cares? That’s an 8, 9, or 10.

Should my logo be blue and green with a dumbbell or pink with a kettlebell? It doesn’t matter. It won’t make or break your business.

So what are your 1s, 2s, and 3s? Lead generation, converting those leads into paying clients, and delivering the results better than anyone else in your community.

It’s simple: you need leads if you want clients, you need clients if you want money, and you need effective workouts if you want to keep those clients with you and bring new ones in.

Exceed expectations. When you do, you build your reputation, you start getting referrals, and before you know it, you start building a staff, which means your staff helps to build the systems that run your business.

Now building systems ahead of time? I hear this from others all the time. I’m like, “Dude, you don’t even have your first 10 clients through the door. Why are you worried about creating a system with 1000 clients?”

And if you could do those three things, soon you’ll figure out what your logo is. Just recently, I’m talking within the last 12 months, my graphics guy created a BK logo, and I didn’t even ask for it. He created it and he goes, “Look, what I created you, surprise.”

I haven’t had a logo for 17 years! I’ve just been making millions changing lives by doing the 1s, 2s, and 3s and not the 8s, 9s, and 10s.

Let’s focus on the 1s, 2s, and 3s. That’s how good entrepreneurs raise profits and maximize their impact.
